We need infrared depth sensing light sensors pointing over each parking spot and for it to automatically update immediately whether it’s open or occupied. Until we build this infrastructure, just don’t bother. I ignore it because it’s always going to be wrong and is ever changing. You never know when someone’s going to pull out. {"replyToPid":0,"replyTo":"","text":"it's not always a lie.\ntrucks can come and go at anytime.  I've pulled into empty smaller rest areas only to see them nearly fill in 15 mins, then be nearly empty again 10 mins later.  just a bunch of drivers stopping to use the bathroom.  The rest area on i80 in Wyoming right at the Nebraska boarder is like this, it can go from empty to full and back to empty in under half an hour.\n\nit's also possible that a truckstop lot can be full then 5 mins later a bunch of drivers leave, or the opposite can happen.  a truckstop can have 10 spots available and withen 15 mins they get taken.\n\nweigh stations can actually close and open randomly based on traffic and inspections, that's not necessarily a lie either.  I've even seen weigh stations that only open to pull in trucks to inspect then close while doing the inspections."}

Take notes of the location you're passing through, check your hours available while looking at the local time you're at, & guess that what u see for parking availability could be right. It's not perfect but it's a start. \n\nBesides, anything after 6:30 PM local time, you're taking a chance at a truck stop. (Northeast: 4:30PM)","replyToPid":0}
