{"replyTo":"","text":"Yes. It keeps the straps from vibrating and flapping in the wind and making that buzzing or popping sound. A half twist is all it takes.","replyToPid":0}

{"replyToPid":0,"replyTo":"","text":"If im doing generic steel lengths(pipe, sucker rods, beams, etc) its straight and tight as I can put it.  If it does more than vibrate, starting to flap a little, then its load check time.\n\nIf I got PVC or other stuffs I can crush, it gets a twist.  Tall loads, even if steel, get a twist (shipping containers, for instance).  Nothing like hearing strap slap steel continously until the cargo gets a band of color from the straps."}

{"replyTo":"","text":"I only did it on tall fragile loads, styrofoam, PVC ect. If it's anything else, you can get flat straps on ridged loads much tighter so long as you tighten them down good, they won't flap.","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"Youre exactly right. It helps a lot with the higher loads. There's not as much strap surface getting hit by wind on the shorter stuff.","replyToPid":0}
