{"text":"For all the new drivers here, winter is almost there & forecast says that its gonna be a big one this year. so here are some tips for new drivers.\n\nif i miss something, anyone can add their views.\n\nFirst of all You should have this stuff with you.\n\nTire chains (Auto sock is garbage)\nBottled water\ndried food\nShovel\nRoad salt\nDe-icer spray\nwarm socks + some extra socks\nwaterproof warm gloves\nhat\nsome extra warm clothes\npretty good blanket\n1 extra set of windshield wipers\nwindshield washer fluid\ncoolant\nsome extra engine oil\nflashlight with extra batteries\nsome tools like\nplier, socket, fuses, bulbs, screwdrivers\nduct tape, Electric tape, Box knife\nemergency flares\nbattery jumper cable\nfirst aid kit\nsnow shoes\n\nDo's & Don't Do's:\n\nDo:\nkeep patience.\nAlways check weather ahead of time & be prepared.\nAlways use chains when ever required.\nmaintain safe gap & speed.\ntry to put max. on your drive axle.\nfor flatbed guys-try to remove snow from your deck as soon as possible.\nstop after every two hours & clean your snow covered tail lights.\nwhen you are not feeling safe, just pull out b'coz no load is worth your's & others life.\nfor singles out there, try to drive in day time as much as possible.\nkeep checking washer fluid level.\n\nDon't:\ndo not start driving unless your engine oil temp. is above 150.\ndo not ever stop on an uphill.\ndo not apply hard brakes.\nif its too slippery dont apply brakes untill your steer wheels are straight.\ndo not apply engine brakes unless your truck & trailer is in well straight position.\nwhen going on sleep do not apply trailer brakes (Yellow out, Red in).\n\nIf you have question, feel free to message me.\nhave a safe winter ahead.","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true}

{"replyTo":"","text":"I would like to add 2 things. \n\nAdd rubbing alcohol to your wiper fluid. Half a bottle to 1 gallon ratio. This will stop your wiper fluid from freezing when you use it also melts ice on windshield. \n\n2nd is do NOT release trailer brakes when parked. You’ll wake up to frozen trailer brakes. The way you release them is with a hammer on the actual brake pads on the wheels. ","replyToPid":0}

","text":"I’m just saying that for any guys that have multiple trailers in a company. \n\nWhen I worked local we had different trailers for different jobs. \n\nSo when you have to unhook and leave it there for 8 hrs it is a great help. Sure there’s risks but that’s what if it needs to be done. Minimize the risks. ","replyToPid":209311}
