{"replyTo":"","text":"if you have minimum experience stick it out a bit. you have to start somewhere. when I started driving I left a maintenance tech job that paid $42k a year with good benefits to local haul for a company that hauls guts from kill plants to a rendering plant for $34k a year no benefits. when I quite 3.5 years later I was making $58k/yr. I took a regional reefer job making $65k/yr. did that for a year, bought a truck and have been on my own for 2.5 years and make real good money. you have to keep climbing the ladder can't start out at the top.\n\nwhen I took the regional reefer job I didn't have the freight experience they wanted but the owner knew the place I had been hauling rendering to which basically consisted of hauling blood and guts around in an end dump, brake too hard and it's come over the front of the trailer, accelerate to fast and over the back it goes. to him that was better experience. you never know what the next boss is going to like. he could think that honoring the deal you made with a crappy company even though you were unhappy about it says a lot about your character.","replyToPid":0} |
