Middle Lane Slowpokes

Do you pass on the right, presuming you’re not allowed in the far left lane, or do you pass on the left despite not being allowed in that lane? ","text":"Thank you, and yes, I get over right away once clear because I know I’m slow to four-wheelers and owner-ops. Although I’m a bit faster than a handful of company drivers. The truck I’m currently in toys around at 69/70. ","text":"It depends on multiple factors.\nLocality - don't do it in Spotsylvania area of Virginia (north of Richmond on I95) and some other parts of Virginia as they enforce it. Michigan also enforces heavily. Pennsylvania sometimes as well.\n\nYour top speed vs slowpoke and surrounding traffic. Can you pass in a half mile or so? Do it on the left if the right is iffy, but do it safely either way.\n\nAnother time to consider not passing on the left is if you've seen a lot of bears out.. Probably not smart to risk it if you have.\n\nThese are all for left lane passes.. for the right lane, it's always a viable option but be smart about it, safe about it, and PROACTIVE about it. ","text":"LoL... I hear ya, well I've always had a fast truck until now.....lord I don't know if I can get used to this 70 MPH wide open... I make good money but IDK...a guy from over in Texas sent me an email just bought a new 379 Pete and  a pnumatic trailer and said it's mine if I want it... hauling frac sand... really good money...idk if I should go or stay here.. this flat bed is getting harder the older I get... ","text":"That’s what I’ve been doing, and will hug the outer line. Just made me think of another question, though. If both right lanes are blocked by a slowpoke passing a slowpoke (eg. 56 passing 55) do we just have to suffer and wait?","replyToPid":12804}
