{"text":"Ok first post and not trying to start a argument over this or offend anyone...\n\nWhy are some trucks so noisy when the engine fan cycles on and off? Serious question. When I'm looking for a spot at the stops I always try to avoid parking beside certain makes because of it. Also, are these brands that much better on fuel the drivers can afford to let them idle all night? When it's mild outside I just cannot wrap my head around this. Obviously if it's really hot or cold outside it makes more sense...but how the heck do you sleep with that fan rattling your teeth every time it comes on?\n\n Again, serious questions not trying to pick a fight  or start a discussion over which is the best truck on the lot, etc. \n\nThanks for your feedback. {"replyTo":"","text":"some of it depends on if a/c or defrost is on(uses a/c), will cycle the fan more.  Also depends on idle rpm, need rpm up so oil pressure gets oil to the top end.  Things like insulation inside the hood, how far forward is the engine, engine maker.  Just a few thoughts.  As for idling when temp is decent, could be one is running lots of powered items inside so not draining batteries, others well they aren't paying the fuel bill so they just don't care.  \n\nDrive safe, have a good day!","replyToPid":0}
