{"replyTo":"","text":"Yes, in order to get brokered loads NOT through a leased company (if your in a locked down lease you can only get loads through that company) you do need an MC number and D.O.T.  Number,..usually east to get online they (ARE) your operating authority. When you call a (load board ((D.A.T.,..C.H. Robinson and such)) they will ask you for one of those numbers,…usually the M.c.. it is also the case that you will get not great loads until your M.C. Is “seasoned”.  Seasoning is 3 stages,…new, 3 months and 6 months. After 6 months you will get better loads. DO NOT have a heavy debt load in this period of time,….or you will fail,…as I did. The truck was my problem,…I picked a bad one.  It will be much much better for you to get in to a walk away lease and walk away and do it with about a 10-15 year old,…well maintained truck that you have done A LOT of background on the model and engine that you THINK you want. And for Pete sake keep your payments as low as you can get them.  AND KEEP YOUR DEBT LOAD EXTREMELY LOW,… and you will do fine.  Oh yes,…the more cash you can keep as a backup the more successful you can be.          By the way,…..if you’re new to trucking,….you really should get your mc/dot and wait about a year to get experience under you. I’ve been in it 9 years and I would NOT send a load with you without a more experienced company backing you. ","replyToPid":0}
