{"replyTo":"","text":"A wind farm contractor said when the gov. started subsidizing wind energy the farms were to be self sufficient in 20 years. 8 years ago it was self sufficient in 35 years.... only problem is the major components need replaced in 30 years on average. I hauled replacment gearboxes for the generator house and it paid $5-7$ a mile for runs that were 500 to 1800 miles long. Then they would pay $3 per mile to bounce back if they needed you to haul another. These were legal step deck loads.  The contractor said it cost over $1,000,000 to replace the gearbox and by the time he set the blades and hub on the ground, they would find cracks on the blades and would have to order them. 2-3 million and 2 years of the wind mill being offline. The only green in wind energy is the dollar bills changing hands.","replyToPid":0}
