Trainee sleeping

{"text":"Shouldn’t a trainee be able to sleep in the bunk if they are tired? It’s extremely difficult to adjust to sleep in a truck especially with a reefer. Why am I wrong for thinking they should take it in the back for a bit instead of slumping restlessly next to me in the passenger seat? I don’t know but I don’t think it’s illegal to banish a sleeper to, you know….the sleeper. I’m in complete disagreement with my company telling me they HAVE to stay on duty up front when falling asleep. That’s unsafe. Eventually habituate to sleep at the wheel. The person complaining tried to do a logs adjustment from the sleeper where I sent them to on duty when they were legit in the sleeper. Then what was next was I should learn to sleep when they sleep which is funny because when we team drive don’t we run different shifts? {"replyTo":"","text":"Listen if trainee can't stay up for 11hrs w max total of 14hrs then this is wrong industry for them.  I want new generation of drivers to be taught properly but most are soft w a fragile psyche and a work ethic that is subpar.
