Seeking advice. Thinking of becoming an O/O.

Expect to put down between 20 and 30,000 for the loan plus have an additional 5 to 10 for plates and bobtail insurance and any accessories you might want to add. Don’t buy a fleet truck due to they are poorly maintained and I wouldn’t buy from an owner op unless you know them due to the same issues plus they could be getting rid of the truck for breakdowns and repairs. \nThis is the route I am taking next month. Going to Peterbilt and ordering and Specing out my truck. Short story, there’s a computer chip shortage needed to build new trucks, plus the coronavirus is making it worse.\n\nSo your best options are to buy an old truck (before 2000 to be able to use paper logs and have no DEF issues) or you can buy the newest used truck you can get your hands on. Newer trucks have less DEF issues and higher MPGs. I just went through this and the newest used truck is going to be a 2019 or if you’re lucky a 2020. Get ready to pay big money because the value of used trucks has gone up since people who would be buying new are now being forced to buy used."}
