{"replyToPid":0,"replyTo":"","text":"I just went through that like a week ago. There is a way to get a brand new truck right now, but you gotta buy one of those extended sleepers. They also cost most than a regular sized sleeper, and depending on the freight you haul, it might be a problem with the extra weight and perhaps even too long for a few shippers and receivers out there. The guys who wouldn’t have a big problem with this are (apparently) flatbed, luxury car haulers, and moving companies.\n\nI personally decided to go with the newest used truck that was more easily available. I wanted to buy a 2020, but they’re people already lined up, and they won’t save a truck for you. You kind of have to keep on making calls until they have one, and then you fly there to buy it ASAP. Hopefully they have a few available, so you won’t waste your time and money flying there. \n\nIn my case, I called several dealerships who posted several trucks online. More often than not, what’s posted online is outdated and likely already sold. I flew to a dealership that had like 4 trucks in stock, stayed there for like 2-3 days, while they prepared the truck, and then rolled out with the truck.\n\nIf I could do it all over again, I would have just called a lot of major trucking companies and asked for what they had available right now. I did call Stevens Transport and Prime, but there was nothing. Stevens had a few 2018 Kenworth T680 with almost 500k miles. I wasn’t interested in those, but the pricing was very affordable. I wonder why. Hahaha. I think most dealerships are buying their trucks from mega fleets, so might as well cut out the middleman and save 5-10k. "}
