","text":"Right on Pete. I average 480 miles five days a week 46 weeks a year. I usually take six or eight weeks off per annum. Usually one or two weeks at a time. My good paying dedicated load out of a bad zone solved that problem and also reduced my weekly miles. I’ve kind of always known that this method would work, it’s just that I’m rarely offered dedicated routes, especially on the routes that I am interested in. A portion of it was luck, and the other portion was good customer service and performance that lead to me acquiring this dedicated route.","replyToPid":0}

","text":"I have more than doubled my inputs for the last three years, it’s really simple, either you pay my rates or I park my truck. I have a rock bottom that if I have a really good reason, I will let you talk me down to. For me that number is 20% less than my standard rate. \n    I am also not gouging people right now. I know I could make substantially more than I am right now, but I’m about building long term clientele. I explain why my rates are what they are and many times I get the work even if I’m higher than my competitors. \n    And yes, you are correct, I don’t dictate market rates, I run very few loads that aren’t handshake rates. If I’m a statistic to you, I probably won’t work for you very often. "}
