Getting in trouble for being late before I’m late

What factory or store has ever called you at home and asked you if you were going to make it in tomorrow? Ever? Not even medical. The closest I can think of is dispatching cars to drunk people who are antsy to leave the bar. Otherwise no one has ever pre planned my lateness. Only drunk people.
