{"replyTo":"","text":"I started as a company driver, and spent a year tracking all the expenses on THEIR truck and saving up all the money  I could.  Still had to finance,  but had a good down payment.  It worked well for me, I was able to know what to expect to pay for fuel, repairs,  etc. I agree with 🦕 on knowing your numbers!   good luck in whatever you choose!","replyToPid":0}

","text":"im not a business man; i work like a whipped horse and live like my uncle and dad did in the 70’s i live poorer than the poorest worker! my personal vehicle is my dad’s 1996 oldsmobile that he gave me free and ive put $1,400 brand new transmission in ( common sense maintainence ,) MY MISTAKE ; car was running perfectly better than new ; and i changed the transmission fluid and $&@@ the car up myself( either change it every 2-3 years OR  LEAVE IT ALONE I GUESS? ? ? ) my trucks all are original equipment except allll emissions taken out and repairs; NO CHROME, alll get good fuel mileage(when i drive them) one of my trucks that only i drive is t600 and i bought with 420,000 miles on it and it shows 1,800,000 when the odometer stopped turning 5 years ago! ! that truck is in the bottom 20% of the uggliest trucks on the road; its the only truck i personally drive in the winter; sits for days on end in 0 degrees farenheit and cranks like a brand new tteuck the day it wss built, liwer than 0 fegrees i idle at a formula that varies( by the time im at 40 below zero farenheit ) i idle one hour ; shut it off for 2 hours (that truck has been to hell and back with me) i dont judge a man by his chrome picture trucks; jusge a man by the pictures of his property with his wife im the picture ( got every last one of yall beat on here)  YALL CAN HAVE THE CHROME AND THE FINANCE PATMENTS; ill keep my set up with the beaten up trucks that barely pass D.O.T. bu the skin of my teeth! ! i put my money on my personal life (land) and the engines! them got 3.55 -4.10 rears and none them chrome “dinosaurs “ ever pass me up hill; they can only pass ME on the flats, uphill i smoke em; and down hill im outa gear (safely (i know my routes) every last hill and turn and curve and where every cop sits) ) them dinosaurs with chrome necklaces only pass me on the flats! ! ive also  noticed over the years that for some reason they faster they drive- the more often they stop! ‘. i alwasy see themm chrome lovers in the rest area or truck stop as i keep tortoise  - ing it along my route! ! also at night time in a dimly lit truck stop or rest area ( a old beated up truck) looks just as nice as a chrome lover! ! or maybe that what i just tell myself the darker it is on a cloudy over cast evening or before sunset i get to look at my truck looks the same as a chrome lover","replyToPid":385859}

From what I can tell some think by becoming an O/O things will change like having more control and making more $$ which is true but it comes with more responsibility.
