Can one person do it all as an independent owner operator with their own authority? Has this been done ?

I'm no expert in the tax code, I get my taxes done by somebody else, I'm pretty sure I could do brokering, but I still use shipping brokers. You have to do it all, negotiate, compliance, book keeper, knowing how the truck mechanically works somewhat, ceo and a very good business mind.
