{"text":"hahaha weather is not preventable for starters. A steer tire blow out is not really preventable. it does not take 140 new drivers. it only takes one. And I've been out here for a very long time as well. not fourty years like yourself. but I have my time in. and it is not like it was even twenty years ago. now they just throw you in a truck with your \"trainer\" who has no experience whatsoever. a good month or two and your out on your own. having to figure out the rest for yourself. and I'm sure you have heard of these next two. common sense is not so common. especially nowadays. Next, super truckers. and half these tools out here do not even know or are not even aware of what that phrase means. laws of physics. if you ask me they should all have to start how you did. then we might have a better generation of drivers on the road today. or have some sort of a better training program. half of these mega carriers only want a warm body with a heart beat in the seat. they dont care if you can not even speak the language or read and write. or if you are half blind or whatever. I honestly believe if you or I were directly in the middle of that war zone doing twenty five or fifty five there probably would not be many choices for a way out of a snow covered road on a two lane road with tractor trailers directly in front of you, behind you and to the immediate left or right of you. therefore I say it is not preventable. you start talking about a hundred and fourty something tractor trailers and four wheelers all smashing into one another there is no way out of that. I'm familiar with the area there. but not the exact location. But if your coming over a hill let's say doing fourty five and see a pile of tractor trailers and cars all smashed into each other an eighth of a mile in front of you. you're done. if there is a way out of this then you should teach a class and or let the other hundred and thirty nine drivers know what they did wrong and how it could've been prevented. I'm driving now. so sorry if all of my grammar is not perfect haha","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true,"externalShare":false}

{"replyTo":"","text":"Wamsutter to Rawlins is one of the least hilly sections of actual road, but one of the worst for blowing snow and icy patches. It’s been in a sort of perma frost this winter with temperatures never going above about 22 degrees. \nI’m not saying being in the wreck would be easy to prevent, but there are certain measures one could have attempted. \nThe visibility was terrible, so for that drivers shouldn’t have been traveling in packs. I went through there about an hour before the wreck happened, and the whole day I was passing clusters of trucks. Many traveling way too close to each other and it was rare to see trucks traveling solo. \nLike I mentioned in response to the other post, if one guy messes up and the person behind them responds appropriately, they cannot control what happens behind them. \nAnother thing that the drivers, new or old, could have done is pay attention to the land near the road. I’m not sure about that particular mike marker, but there are a lot of spots where it could be okay to just drive off the shoulder and stay shiny side up. If it’s either driving into the wreck or driving into the dirt, the dirt is a much better option. Paying for a tow is cheaper and safer than hurting yourself or others. \nThe situation was different for each driver involved, and it was definitely a terrifying experience for them all, but perhaps it could have been a little less terrible if some of them thought to do these things.
