{"replyTo":"","text":"It actually might be an intelligent move to buy a Trucking LLC if you want to start your own trucking business. \n1. You would have some history with an insurance company.\n2. You would be past the FMCSA probation period for a new authority.\n3. Some shippers and brokers won’t load you unless you have had authority for 6 months- 1 year. I’ve encountered some that are up to 2 years.\nOf course, you want to buy one with a good safety rating and credit worthiness.","replyToPid":0}

Once that is done you can move forward with actually establishing a company and signing up for a drug consortium. drug consortium adds another 1-2 weeks for processing everything including giving you a random drug test and making a driver qualification form. If someone wants to pay me $300-500 so that they don’t have to deal with the BS of getting a DOT & MC number, they can. Plus, like Ten Speed said, it could work out in that persons favor since the company was started several years ago. I keep getting emails from brokers asking if I’m available for loads and I have to turn them down, since I don’t have a truck.
