","text":"The government is attempting to make travel safer. Although big truck accidents account for a very small percentage of overall fatalities. It’s dumb people in suits making stuff up based on nothing. Very tyrannical of them wouldn’t you say? Besides the fact the drivers and carriers causing the problems are out of the industry, sitting in prison or what have you, we all suffer the consequences of their bad actions. That would be like imposing stiff fines only on red  vehicles because they speed more. Complete buffoons we have making legislation. {"replyTo":"","text":"Agreed.   I also think there is a bit of push to fine and regulate our industry out of existence.  Likely to make way for autonomous trucks.  Trucking Answers did a pretty interesting cast on the current state of autonomous trucks. My “10-15 years” is probably based more on hope than anything. It will likely be more like 5-10.  Tech is moving so fast now. Thankfully, I’ll be done driving (after 22 years) in 2022.  And living a couple hundred miles from an interstate highway","replyToPid":0}
