In 2019 we can’t get enough mileage out of a battery to go OTR, but LTL and local runs will be the first to have these. We don’t yet know how developers and chains are planning on providing charging for trucks without disrupting diesel parking. We need at least 600 miles out of a battery to be feasible for OTR. Currently we are only seeing up to 500 miles out of the Tesla Semi. ","replyToPid":0}

","text":"Depends on how old you are. Self driving trucks will replace the younger drivers in the industry. And as soon as electric trucks become a thing, they will likely be just the drive axles with individual motors and no actual tractor. The steering will be done by applying power to sides differently.
