After school they bring you to Texas for orientation, they pay $300 a Month and your down payment for the school and you pay 50 A Week out of your check in 8 months my school was totally paid for. So if you go through one of their approved outside schools expect to work through them for at least 8 months. The over the road trainer program is awesome I spent 7 weeks with my trainer before I went solo. Then they have a grad fleet program which I also did for 90 days my biggest mistake was leasing a truckFrom them after my grad class. The 1st 2 months were great but then the miles started to decline, then I got stuck somewhere for a week. And that truck payment doesn't stop. Had it not been for that least I would probably still be driving for them. They are a pretty good company, but keep in mind while driving through them the 1st year as a company driver you're not gonna make any real money if I remember it was 36 cents a mile. And you're going to be out 5 to 6 weeks before getting any home time period I got lucky when I left them I got a company job with trans and on a dedicated route the gets me home every 11 days and pays me a whole lot more per mile, and they have plenty of miles.","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"If you are referring to the Texas based Stevens Tranport, I say “Go For It”. I was a driver trainer there back in 2012-14. They are the best at actually showing a new driver the skills and the information they need to be a driver.  My driver code was WIPAT....  You are able to choose how long it takes to pay back. 1-3 yrs your choice. They do not treat students as “Meat In The Seat” just so the trainers get paid for the students miles.  Since I have left, I understand they have even raised the training wage. They are number 1 in my book for driver training. If you are female, they are very strict about treating a woman with respect from their trainers. ","replyToPid":0}

I too was a lease driver and I have to say at least they take care of their equipment. I got to choose how long I stayed out and when I went for home time. The downfall to the lease program it when you turn the truck in after your lease or because you choose to leave the company. They will present you with a bill for a thousand or more dollars to put the truck back into the program for another driver. Even if you turn it in on the same condition you got it. This feed is about their training program.  I still back Stevens Transport’s training program 100%   ","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"I'm a current student at Steven's in Dallas tx and in my 3rd week. its $175 that you have to have when you come for school $100/registration fee for school $25/ for your clp and $60/ for your license after your 14 days with your clp. the  instructors are great and if your lucky to have a small class they really pay attention to you and make sure that you understand what your learning. I would recommend coming to Steven's transport to get your cdl and I wish I would have done it sooner.","replyToPid":0}

I wasn't trained there but my wife at the time was. they did teach her how to go straight. I taught her how to back. from what I see in truck stops, they still aren't teaching that. only company I ever threatened a dispatcher at and afterwards they begged us to stay. promised hometime I never saw after 12 weeks I had had enough. they are hands down the worst company I've ever had to deal with.
