{"text":"I'm a company driver that drives from Seattle to Sacramento and back. my company does not pay for detention or layover, and since the snow started I've been stuck due to road closures and road conditions for over 25+ hours. Should I expect this to be the norm driving this route in the winter? or does it get better than it is in the beginning. \n\nthanks for your input. I'm considering getting a job local until winter blows over. ","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true}
{"replyTo":"","text":"You will have quite a bit of closures. \n\nThe company I’m with does pay us for detention layover and bad weather. Only 75 a day but hey better then nothing when its something you have no control over. ","replyToPid":0}
{"replyTo":"","text":"I’d be honest with the company and let them know not getting any kind of pay for things out of your control isn’t going to work and let them try to sweeten the pot before you jump ship. But if they won’t budge on it then hell yes jump ship. We’re in too high of demand to let yourself get screwed out of family time for no pay. I5 closures are not often but they do happen for various reasons this time of year. Run safe and use your chains when you have too. Don’t get caught being negligent because those guys are part of the reason for closures when they teach their trucks to lay down. ","replyToPid":0}
