{"replyTo":"","text":"It all depends on you and if you can hack being away from your family. A lot of drivers are home every weekend but don’t make killer money. Some home every other weekend meh money and others like myself that stay out at least one month. Mostly I’m out 2 months or 2.5 months at a time and take off a week when I go home. Weekly pay for one depends on who you work for and how they pay. Some drivers work on cents per mile as I work for percentage of gross revenue. If you go gross revenue go with either reefer, flat/step deck or tanker. These loads pay more than dry freight. ","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"Well I just magically decided to be a truck driver, so yeah you can, and as far as what you can realistically make starting out depends on the company that you choose to drive for, my first year I made $58,000, I could have made more if I had chose to stay out longer, but that’s what I made my first year. The training also depends on the company, my training was 6 weeks @ $100 per day that I was out on the road now my company pays $700 a week regardless which is nice. Some companies like C.R. England want you to sign a year contract for your schooling to get your CDL which is going to come out of your pay. Don’t ever sign a contact with a company, that’s just my two cents though.","replyToPid":0}
