Hit an icy patch and went into a tailspin in the early daylight hours 3 days before Christmas.  My truck and I were the only ones involved and that's probably what saved me from a ticket. I was fired immediately after Christmas and DAC'd for the accident.\nI bounced around between bad companies for the next year and some change after that until I got with my current outfit in February of '15.  Since then, I've managed to acquire a sizable sum of money, a couple of nice cars and a house in Florida all bought and paid for and I haven't had a single accident or ticket in all that time.\nMy point is, such a devastation isn't the end of the world as long as you learn from your mistakes and work to improve. ","text":"Yeah, preventable most likely. Then it'll go on your record.  Most companies will state no preventable accidents in 2yrs as their hiring policy. Unless you really screwed up, I doubt your carrier will make a big deal about it. You'd be wise to stay there until it's gone from your record in a couple years. Or at least make it clear to any potential employer if your circumstances before you leap.","replyToPid":248704}
