Been plenty of times I've seen other drivers chain up and last year had 2 times where they were required (i84 in Oregon) and I ignored and had no issue.\n\ntwo non-chain tips...\nSnow provides better traction then ice. It may seem backwards, but the tire tracks have packed snow and ice from constant traffic. If the roads aren't treated, you can have much better traction by NOT following the tire paths created by traffic.\n\nSteady on throttle and light. If climbing or descending a hill set your gear lower then needed so you wont have to use as much power and can easily maintain a slower and steady speed up or down the hill."} |
