","text":"It was tight it came off while we where on the Freeway we pulled into a TA got coffee just came from Kentucky and after 20 mins down the Road the Temp light came on so I’m like What’s this so I popped the hood and noticed the fan wasn’t turning and the Belt was off so the mechanic said it had a bad tensioner on it ","replyToPid":240041}

Tensioner failing caused the belt to slip off and shred. Just a few secs of flapping around before breaking completely and it ripped open the hose coming off the bottom of the radiator dumping all my coolant along with ripping off the engine temp sensor and coolant level senser.\n\nRoad service to fix the hose, belt, and 10 or so gallons of coolant. Drove the truck to a shop for the sensors (luckily it was winter and no more big hills so engine heat wasn't a concern). Tensioner was on a 4 month backorder everywhere so couldn't get the failing one replaced. Stopped leasing the truck 3 months later when the warranty expired so no clue if it ever got fixed."}
