{"replyTo":"","text":"I dont see why so many people have a problem with the eld. it doesn't cost you making money it only delays it a bit. what it does do is protect drivers from horrible companies that would demand the driver to drive much longer than can be done safely. We've all been in those shoes being given a near impossible delivery date. I can remember when I first began driving literally on my first trip and not knowing any better I got saddled with a load from south Dakota to Detroit Michigan that was next day delivery then turning around and being told the only load they could find was a load needing to be in Laredo in just over 24 hours. I must have only gotten 2 hours to stop and sleep in those 3 days minus cat naps while unloading and reloading. the eld protects the driver and other vehicles on the road ( even though the normals lol are the real problems). also there need to be a daily hour limit for similar reasons but it needs to be adjusted to 17 or 18 hours because we have all had to deal with crazy amounts of traffic or much to long loading times that all just eat away into our actual 11 hours we need to put in the make money.","replyToPid":0}

","text":"there is a big difference. but first on or off uses your 14 hours but now being able to use on duty to do the break it can be uses as part of loading instead of for instance lets say you've just gotten to your delivery and its 12pm, it took 6 hours to get to your delivery and it takes 2 hours to unload. then your reload is 1 1/2 hours away and cut off is at 3pm. before you would have had to lie on your logs and put 30 mins as offduty so you could make it to your reload or end up missing your reload because you would have to take the 30 minute breaks. now you just put it as on duty and loading or unloading your time will reset.","replyToPid":402315}
