{"replyTo":"","text":"how hard is it to look this up\n\nSIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) — Authorities found a driver who ran from the scene of three separate crashes on I-75 in Sidney.\n\nThe crashes happened just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes of I-75, north of the Fair Road exit.\n\nThe Ohio State Highway Patrol says a vehicle and at least one semi was involved in the crash. Another semi then hit a disabled vehicle and another semi crashed trying to avoid the other two crashes. No injuries were reported. When officers arrived on scene, they were told the person driving the first vehicle involved in the crash ran away.\n\nAccording to Sidney Police, people who witnessed the crash pulled over to help. That’s when the suspect came back and stole one of the vehicles that was pulled over, a silver Honda Pilot, taking off on southbound I-75 before abandoning the car on I-75.\n\nSidney Police and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office searched the area for that person. A K-9 unit was called to the scene to assist with the search in addition to an Ohio State Highway Patrol helicopter.\n\nAuthorities were about to end the search when the spotted the suspect walking on Campbell Road near I-75. Police took him into custody just after 5:30 am. The 24-year-old man admitted to stealing the vehicle and will likely face a theft of a motor vehicle charge, according to Sidney Police.\n\nThe suspect claimed he was injured and was taken to a local hospital before being taken to jail.\n\nAuthorities shut down the northbound lanes of I-75, just north of the Fair Road exit due to the crash. The left lane reopened around 6 a.m. Wednesday.\n\nThe cause of the crash is under investigation.","replyToPid":0}
