{"replyTo":"","text":"lol this went off the rails.  just going to respond to the original poster.  Lady trucker here.  There is lots of us out there.  If you personally feel the calling do it.  But not to please Dad.  I have never regretted it.  Also,  please do not feel like you have to overcompensate and act or talk like you think the men do.  Truthfully the guy truckers, for the most part, out here are some of the best people.  Ditto for the women.  The times I have had problems with being female has actually been at shippers/ recievers.  Good luck on your decision and best wishes.","replyToPid":0}

I lost my job overseas in the oil field and only knew one other thing I could do to make money was drive a truck. Like you my dad was a trucker when trucking was a free for all from the 70s to the early 90s. He made mistakes and mom left him. When I said I was going to buy a truck my mom and wife both tried to stand in my way and stop me. I now have 3 trucks running and now they both are behind me and support my business. Just get in it and if you don’t like it at least you can say you did it and will always have something to fall on when things are hard. \n\nGood luck on what ever path you take. Never be to proud to ask for help or how to do something.
