604681 发表于 2019-08-28 10:11:34 I have peoplenet in my truck and when I go off duty it logs me off duty+ sleeper birth. so I have done 8/2 splits by just going off duty cause it also logs me in the sleeper. whether your off duty or in the sleeper its the same thing your not on duty. and as long as your not operating the truck, fueling, or doing paperwork you can log off duty and be in the driver seat

{"replyTo":"","text":"Per regulations ‘off duty’ status is for when you’re physically out of the truck SB anytime you’re in the bunk or truck and relieved of duty (not driving, vehicles not in motion and you’re in the passenger seat,cooking in the back,etc). While most DOT don’t care and allow it to be interchangeable some are di;:s and will ask where you were physically when off duty has been logged.","replyToPid":0}

157862 发表于 2019-07-24 18:38:52 Depends on the software.   Some software recognizes 8/2 and 2/8 ( each is legal) some only recognizes 8/2. It’s been a year since I tested, so can’t comment on how good they might be today.  I can say KeepTruckin recognizes either option, but only after the fact.  You have to understand the rule or you can mess it up. ( I miss using Driver’s Daily Log)\n\nWhen I last tested them, FleetUp did not understand the 8/2, and PeopleNet required the intervention of the company compliance officer.

{"replyToPid":0,"replyTo":"","text":"Read what you wrote “...8:2, 2/8” you can’t pause the clock with 2:8. That’s why I posted the regs for clarification so no newbies got confused. Don’t take it personally. Many don’t understand how it works and clarification never hurts anyone. \nEdit: you’ve also never been able to pause the 14 with 2 in the bunk or off duty. If that were the case killing 2 getting loaded wouldn’t jack up our clock because we’d just pause it. It’s always been you have to sit for 8 in the sleeper to start a split. "}

{"replyTo":"","text":"I was always told off duty. But DOT doesn’t know what that means and it makes em cranky. Many companies sign something that relieves the driver of any and all duties/responsibility associated with the truck and trailer when logged off duty. But to DOT they don’t know what you are actually doing.... sleeping? Drinking beer? Showering? Watching tv? Sleeper means sleeping and off duty means just that. You’re off duty 👍🏼 \n\nI’m running team now though and I was told to just log all off duty time in the sleeper because it’s easier for an audit. Which makes no sense to me because there are times on a run I’ll log 20+ hours in the sleeper. I look at it like this. If I’m in the bunk eating, watching tv, on the phone or doing naked yoga, I’m in the “sleeper.” If I’m out of the truck and not at a shipper or receiver checking in or docking or fueling, then I’m off duty.
