{"replyTo":"","text":"For the sake of debate, I’ll attest to something that I discovered on my own, without television, science, or prior knowledge. \n\nOn I-90 westbound, as you enter into Pennsylvania, there is a welcome center located on a high bit of land over looking Lake Erie. One day when I stopped for a rest, I was outside on the observation deck looking out on to the lake. I noticed two objects on the horizon light in color. After a few minutes of watching I determined that whatever it was was not moving. So I went back to my truck, got a pair of binoculars, and returned. It only took me a moment to realize what I was seeing was the top half of a pair of smoke stacks. \n\nAfter a quick look a google earth, I discovered that across the lake from the welcome center, in Canada, there is a coal fired steam plant along the shore. But, because of the curvature of the planet, I could only see the top half of the stacks. \n\nYou certainly have a right to believe in whatever you want, and I am not gonna down you for that. But the question invoked a memory from some years ago on one of my many trips to the area. Good day. ","replyToPid":0} |
