{"replyTo":"","text":"I don't remember anything about \"chains only\" on coils, only boulders.  I had to check my FMCSR for section 393.120...  nope...  straps are fine as it says \"tiedowns\", not \"chains\" many times.  The driver could use steel banding if they wanted, since its rated.  Steel banding isn't ideal, but it's legal.","replyToPid":0}

","text":"Right?? I didn't think the fmcsr said anything about chains only, although I would never strap steel coils. A. because I was taught to use chains B. because steel coils are sharp enough to cut straps C. because chains are just easier and give a better securement","replyToPid":221289}
