634166 发表于 2019-06-10 04:00:36 Really? Didn’t know Company drivers out there got paid a percentage. That’s cool. So what does that actually give you though? I mean 25% of $6000 is a lot different than 25% of $4000. Or $25/hr for 65 hrs vs $25/hr 45 hrs.
","text":"if u pay them a percentage either 22 to 30* it gives them incentive to work harder plus the more he makes the more u make, and if u can keep them happy they will stick with u, a good rule of thumb is about half the profit after expense","replyToPid":61841}

634166 发表于 2019-06-10 04:43:04 Sure, but what if now I told you it was daily picking up in RI going to NY City, 9 stops all of which you have to unload. Still sound good? I don’t think so. For me I wouldn’t do it for $1000/day. This is the type of stuff you run into. Like even on the job board post on here, overloaded with Schneider. Why? Because they can’t keep anybody, they lure people in with big promises and then drop the hammer on all their lies once you actually get in their truck.

634166 发表于 2019-06-10 04:02:54 I know it’s a tough question to answer, but I’m just looking for some rough numbers. Like if you get a weekly check, then what is a typical amount? And how much did you have to work for that?
","text":"You can't really base your pay on what others tell you. My opinion is that you should start the driver out on a set figure. ex: 45 cents per mile. Then based on his experience ( does he keep truck maintenance up checking oil, tires, fluids, etcetera) Does he pass DOT inspections.? Is he accident free. Does he make pick up/ delivery on time.Upon evaluating his skills as a driver. You can then raise his pay accordingly.  Do that don't forget there are the 150 truck driving academy out here. if you pay him the going rate without checking his abilities first it could cost you more money in the end from lack of everyday knowledge","replyToPid":61844}

657069 发表于 2019-06-10 09:36:13 So paying a driver 45% of the load and you would still have money to pay the bills and make a profit?
","text":"I agree, even with great rates idk how you’d pay your bills I as an o/o don’t even take home 45% after all expenses. If someone is getting paid that they are probably then having to pay for something on the expense side. Like fuel or making a payment on the truck.","replyToPid":61995}

","text":"This was a made up job ya’ll. The point is how a lot of companies make their pay sound a lot better than it is and it all depends. It is about more than just x cents/mile. I could pay someone $0.90/mile but then make them pay for the fuel & insurance. Well then they aren’t actually making $0.90/mile.","replyToPid":61976}

","text":"I see your point but a load that pays 6k isn’t equal to a load that pays 4K. One was longer travel then the other or more work for the driver so the percentage never changes. The driver just gets more. For example If u go ca to tx for 4K and go ca to ny for 6k then the driver still gets 25% and is still compensated. ","replyToPid":61844}
