People who have never been around trucks or truck drivers truly have no idea what this lifestyle is all about or what all it incumbencies. Most of the litter bugs are those from other places that think nothing of littering, and notice I said most, not all. There’s not enough time of space on here to explain a “truck driver” thoroughly, in which would cause you to truly appreciate the truck drivers and not get on a truckers forum and be rude. Most ALL truck drivers hate litter bugs, no matter if they’re a truck driver or not. We see this beautiful country everyday for up to 11 hrs while driving. We see the side of all the roads in the cities, the country, the suburbs, the neighborhoods, etc. I, as well as other truck drivers, have picked up trash off road sides, parking lots, and I’ve even pulled over and get a tire or some other large object out of the road so mo one would hit it. I’ve seen other truck drivers do this too. I’ve never seen a person in a car do this or any other trash pick up as I’ve explained above. Now that being said, please don’t get on a public forum and bash truck drivers. There is good and bad in everything. And like I said, I understand why a community doesn’t want trucks parked on their streets but they don’t have to be mean and ugly about it. Truck drivers live in neighborhoods too and are just as human as you. The difference is most of us, NOT ALL, have more understanding, empathy, wisdom, courage and knowledge than the average person because of what we do, no pun intended. \nI will end this with a thought though…. You’re community banned truck parking over night, but you do have truck overnight parking just outside the community, if I’m reading your words correctly, in which is the perfect answer. I thank your community for that! But…. There are communities that don’t have parking like this and here comes a drive making it to their destination after driving nearly 800 miles in 10.5 hours, not including that drivers time on duty working on their truck/trailer for what ever reason, in which is all normal and that’s what we do, and there’s no where to park overnight and go to sleep. They then have to drive no telling how far to find a place to park. Put yourself in their shoes and try to imagine how you would feel. Overnight parking for us has become a nightmare. Please be kind to a truck driver. We do all this to keep AMERICANS stocked. ","replyToPid":0} |
