They do not represent trucking interests. OOIDA, which I have been a member of, has failed in every major anti trucking regulation to come down the pike! First, the failed to stop so called deregulation, which was in fact total regulation, and the end of self regulation. Previous to that, the Teamsters were strong, despite their warts, And independents had three choices, all of them money makers. Next, they failed to stop the the CDL mandate,  which began the super scale, DOT government overreach that has regulated us to death, and made ambulance chasers wealthy.  Next CSA. An absolute nightmare, that has given total control to the government, and shippers/receivers, that dont have a dime invested in the industry. Next, the ELD! Clearly it has made the industry, less productive, and less safe. This industry will never have representation. We gave it away! ","text":"can be much worse.  highest lumper fee I had was around $650, but I was a company driver at the time so didn't have to worry about it.  was a few pallets of McCormick spices that had to be broken down into around 120 pallets each with 1-5 boxes."}
