{"replyTo":"","text":"My first year of driving, picked up a load of insulation out of Maxwell, Calizuela. Stopped at the VN Vets Memorial rest area in Weed, Calizuela to do my Federally mandated P.T. 'cause I was in the National Guard. Had to chain up as the snow was getting thick and heavy. Stopped in K-Falls and went had supper at Molly's, meat loaf with mashed 'taters and gravy. \n\nMade it to Bend, OR and continued to Hermiston, OR. The blizzard was so thick across the river that I could not see a single exit. I pushed on to Spokane and stopped at 24 Hour Fitness to do my PT. I was a new driver and had no clue about not setting the trailer breaks. Also, I did not know about removing the mud flaps when full chaining the drives.\n\nThe next morning at Newport I needed 8 new trailer tires and two new drives. It was a mega fleet carrier so no harm done. The customer was no where near Newport, WA; he was ten miles down a dirt road off of a county road! Tells me drivers deliver here all the time. The tow truck driver arrived in a Ford 450 and we used chocks and my truck in 4x4 differentials to get out of the ditch. Tow truck driver tells me he does this everytime that business has a delivery.\n\nCompany says, take it to the yard in Spokane, which is a railhead, grab (this) empty. \"Empty\" has four huge boxes of Bisquick, two huge boxes of #10 cans of coffee. Those went into the cab of my truck, the sleeper and side box. (I gave these to the Readiness N.C.O. of my National Guard unit as many of my soldiers were underemployed because of illegal aliens got all the jobs, just like in Oregon.) By boxes I meant cartons of huge boxes.\n\nCompany sent me to the paper mill, picked up pre-loaded trailer and scaled it at 82,000 pounds. (That's 41 tons for chick drivers who can't read weight limits.) Took the load and headed for the newspaper publisher in Monterey, Calizuela. Heading along I 84 along the Columbia River and stopped to eat and rest, listening to the water falls.\n\nGot to the Oregon scales near Troutdale, OR and weighed in at 78,000 pounds! The underside of the truck, the engine compartment and frame had had two tons of snow packed I to it. \n\nThis is true event story which I have shared with you. Stay safe out there, ya'll.","replyToPid":0} |
