FWIW, there was 1 time I got an overweight permit for an excavator loaded on an RGN (Removable Goose Neck) that was grossing me just under 80k lbs.. I could shift the weight to the steers by sliding 5th wheel plate forward to make it legal, but I wouldn't be able to make turns without trailer digging into drive tires. A weird catch 22.
I figure if you are talking about holes, you have a van trailer with multiple pieces. Can't permit a load overweight that is reducible.
