{"replyTo":"","text":"I think lifting the hos during the storm is a great idea. It allows us to get our job done more efficiently and effectively. Many times the hos makes you drive when you're tired and stop when you're wide awake. Everyone's body isn't the same as to when it needs rest and for how long. The flexibility of the split sleeper works well when all you need are 4-6 hours of sleep instead of 10. Delivery windows, with break downs, bathroom breaks, weather and traffic can be very tight and the decreasing rates along with rising cost make earning a living very difficult if you're only able to get in one or two loads a week. I say, get rid of the 14 hour rule, and use the split sleeper berth. This way a trucker can get the rest reach individual requires, keep a flexible drive/home time schedule, make the necessary adjustments when necessary on the road and still keep his appointments. This will allow him to earn a living with less stress and fatigue resulting in less speeding ( trying to beat the clock) and crashes ( because he has to drive per the hos even though he's tired).","replyToPid":0} |
