I’m a carhauler and usually have multiple stops so the 30 min break is basically a non issue now.  It was an asinine rule when it was implemented. They need to do away with the 14 hr clock as it has made the roads much more dangerous and more importantly it has taken a toll on driver health. Just go back to the old 15 hr day rule and start living like a human being again. You can rest when you need it or take a break while the school buses are running or whenever a driver thinks it’s best to do so. They threw a big chunk of safety out the window with the 14 hr clock. 521212 发表于 2020-10-15 02:29:16 I believe owner operater should be able to bend some of the hos rules for example its our truck. we should be able to use personal conveyance to pick up the loads, when we get at the pick up start the time. or when we leave to make a pick up for tomorrow we should be able to leave 1 day before tomorrow on personal conveyance until we get there without having to start the time. or when we are 50 miles from delivery and we slept the 10hrs we should be allowed to use personal conveyance to delivery with a minimum 2 hrs a day

The mandated 30 minute lunch break is also ridiculous. Without the 14 hr clock, we could stop and eat or nap when we're needed it. All of these rules seem to be made to work us harder.
