new driver, need some advice...

707029 发表于 2019-10-09 13:19:14 The ramp speed is good because that is what we are supposed to do, but you can't go that slow on the interstate.  That is dangerous just as they want to govern all trucks to 65.  In time you will get your confidence and know what your truck can comfortably do.  Slowing in the rain is alright because of hydroplaning plus if it's coming down hard, you can prepare to stop.  These other drivers going that fast are the ones that give drivers a bad rep.  Do as you feel comfortable as long as it's safe and legal.  Hopefully soon you will be up driving your 65 mph in no time.  I have 18 years experience with no preventable accidents.  It's a big machine you are in control of and it's why we get paid to drive them safely.

{"replyTo":"","text":"It is ok to be scared, he who tells u he never felt scared they are lying. After 15 yrs I see get scared in crazy weather or in crowded citys. And I still feel sad when I leave home. And yes I still get very heartbroken/ nervous/ scared when I see a  truck wrecked in the woods or flipped in the middle of the road. Knowing that probably that driver didn't make it home this time. And probably left home with the same illusion that he would be home by the weekend","replyToPid":0}
