{"replyTo":"","text":"I'll tell you what. i drove manual for 28 and a half years. I got into my first automatic about a year and a half ago and here are my thoughts.\n\nfirst of all, yes, autos make it a lot more comfortable especially in traffic. but what a lot of people who haven't driven auto don't realize is there's a learning curve to an auto as well. you don't just get in and mash the pedal. it took me some time to learn how it reacts and to adapt to it after driving manual for so long.\n\nbiggest thing for me to overcome (besides looking for a clutch pedal) was throttle usage during a shift. I won't go into detail but I will say it's the exact opposite of a manual. you need to work the throttle through the range. if you just mash in it, it's not going to perform well.","replyToPid":0} |
