I've had no problems, other than bulb replacement. i don't know the quality of the new radios. As a side note, the mike I use is a 35 year old Road King 56, that has had the cord replaced once, and the ptt switch replaced shortly after it was new.

If you have some money to spend go with a 2x4 Davemade amp and key on those mudducks.
