So basically it’s the company’s 70 but your responsibility to make sure you don’t violate. If they are trying to get you to run illegally then they can be held accountable but out side of that they can expect you to run out your 70 in 6 days if they choose. \n\nYou are in control of the truck and you are legal to shut it down any time you are out of your safety zone. If you don’t feel safe driving more than 8 or 9 hours a day they can’t force you to. But it’s a good bet they will start starving you to get you to quit. \n\nThe trucking company don’t necessarily pick when the load has to be picked up or when it has to be there. \n\nI have seen times they will say the load has to be picked up today but cannot deliver till day after tomorrow even though it’s only 600 miles. I personally say no thanks and find a different load but it’s how it goes. \n\nEven as an O/O if I commit to a pick up and delivery the customers expect me to meet that. It’s how trucking goes. Not always is it possible or economical to only run 8 or 9 hours a day. \n\nI personally can almost never run recaps because I run my 70 out in 5 to 6 days.

","text":"That’s funny. I asked the one dispatcher I had when they were going to put mine on so I could make the appointment he wanted me to. Lol. \n\nNow I have just the opposite problem and the company I’m on with now has 30 mph dispatchers. I had one the other day call me wanting me to pick a load up at 6 in the morning drive 200 miles and wait till the next day at 6 in the morning to deliver, for $600. I ask if they were on crack and he said never mind and hung up on me. Lol 😂 ","replyToPid":185383}
