How do you make your “sleepers” more comfortable?

I also use a small ionizer/air purifier (helps keep the air fresher), place scented dryer sheets in the cabinets and drawers to keep it fresh, vacuum often, use all natural orange or lemon cleaner to clean the floor and interior occasionally, turn off the rear speakers and adjust the EQ on the stereo to be more flat and only work up front to prevent noise pollution (you’d be surprised how much electromagnetic chaos can make you feel stressed or tired while driving due to high pressure levels from loud frequencies). With lower back issues from sleeping on most mattresses, I sometimes sleep with a body pillow between my knees which really helps. Also consider keeping a real chair folded up in the truck to sit up straight in while shutdown but not asleep, instead of sitting up on the soft mattress of your bed, which is terrible for your posture as it causes compression on the lower back, and after hours in a sitting position driving, the lower back needs to stretch. Also stretch your entire body every morning, and use your pre-trip and going into the truck stop to groom as an opportunity to stretch and get woken up good before heading out. I see too many drivers just wake up, rubbing their eyes and just taking off without pre-tripping or waking up good. Also consider having shoes or boots you can easily take on and off and leave them in the driver floor board instead of treading dirt in the sleeper and give your steppers a rest. I keep a mat under the driver seat and at the foot of the bed to help keep mud and dirt down. I also keep an open bottle of water in a cup holder to humidify the air, as the A/C and heater dries it out.

","text":"That sounds like great suggestion. I’m going to have to try that. I’ve currently been using peppermint and some other essential oils in a diffuser to clear my sinuses and help me breathe and sleep deeper, so I’m curious as to how well that might work for me. Thanks. ","replyToPid":124879}
