{"replyTo":"","text":"I've only been living in a truck for 33 years but from my experience with Prime, the only people, which are very few, that have ever made it thru their lease purchase program are the ones that never tell them they want to buy the truck until 2 weeks before the end of the lease. There have been many lawsuits against them for what they do. They don't EVER want to sell you the truck. They only want you to make payments for them. Then when you get frustrated and leave they'll keep putting new lease drivers in the same truck over and over until they pay for the truck and will keep doing so until the life of the truck is over. I lost $57,000 with Wiltrans,  which is now Wilson because I wanted a 379 Pete instead of the Freightliners that Prime had many years ago. They both will keep you running hard at first to keep you playing the game and make you feel like the lease is doable and then the miles will start slacking. Don't ever think they're your friend because they are not even if they say they are. Both are crooked con artists. You've been warned. Don't ever trust them no matter what they say and don't ever take a load that is late being picked up because of someone else's service failure because when you deliver that load thinking you're helping them out the service failure will go down on your record even tho it wasn't originally your load. That's how they screwed me. I thought I was doing them favors but that's how they put me out of the truck and I lost $57,000 8 weeks before end of lease buy out.","replyToPid":0}

","text":"I mostly agree with you. Except lose the brokers. Get signed on with a lot more shippers. Especially right now. All these brokers right now crying cheap. Freights not cheap, the brokers are robbing 25-50% of a loads pay off truckers. Grossing $5k to 8k per week; home weekends. Low fuel bills. Should never ever ever buy a truck through the company who’s running you. They won’t ever let you make any money. And Prime?!? Are you nuts? YOUR supposedly OWN truck has to be speed limited at those crazily dangerous traffic impeding slow speeds. Walk away. Fast. Start over. Find an owner op that has nice equity and pays fair and build a nest egg. Then go buy your own truck. Yourself. And get your own authority. Or stay a company driver. That’s all you are with prime. DONT be the idjit that goes and buys a cheap truck and gets your own authority and then hauls cheap freight ( because I gotta make fuel money this week waaaahhh) Trust me. 35 years have taught me stay away from the cheap freight. Don’t touch it for any reason.  Those brokers will pay more when they can’t get any more cheap trucks. And I haven’t sat any extra time finding a good load.
