Most shippers and cons I go to don’t allow overnight parking! Basic rule of thumb I use is always park at either a well lit legit truck stop or rest area as first choice! If I park anywhere else, try to find somewhere where I’m not the only big truck parked there! We’re vulnerable! Mostly while we sleep! Any meth head or thug can target you in middle of night! I’ve parked on ramps and shopping centers before! But only if there’s other trucks parked there also! ","replyToPid":0}

","text":"the reason why I choose shopping centers is that 99% of then have surveillance cameras and I park so that they are aimed at my truck and trailer doors, I also call ahead to make sure it 100% ok to park in their parking lots while the business is closed so I don't disrupt their daily customers","replyToPid":458345}

I’m OTR 48 states so I could be anywhere at anytime! Sometimes parking is bare and I have to find the best choice whatever is available! I won’t pay for parking! It has to be free! I usually park when low in time and wouldn’t have time to call places up!  I just go by available parking on app and read reviews! Preferably something that’s open 24 hrs for coffee in morning and bathroom and possibly food if I need to stack up! And something with good wifi! But would take whatever available if that’s all that was around but only if I feel safe! Personally, I don’t feel safe being the only big truck in a parking lot or anywhere for that matter unless it’s at a closed in shipper or cons with fence that the public doesn’t have access too! Just too many sick people out there that want to do harm! I feel safe around other truckers! Numbers is power! Only worry about truck stops is being hit by another truck! "}

","text":"BigDog: yes I agree! Bad truck stops  can be all over but northern ones are usually better and usually have better wifi! One thing I hate about south is you’re more likely to have lousy wifi or no wifi at all! Especially in GA, MS, AL! ","replyToPid":458333}
