","text":"That question cannot be answered, but generally speaking, a “successful” owner operator will make more than a company driver. As we all know, there are some owner operators who fail; some just don’t like it and quit; and others aren’t making enough and don’t find it worth it to work so much just to make the 80k a Walmart driver can make per year.\n\nAlso, being an owner operator can take years to master. So don’t expect to be making much your first years. I personally find the owner operator route to be a common way to become a fleet owner. I personally don’t want to become one, but I might have to do it just to free myself from having to work like a truck driver out on the road.\n\nFinally, many business owners aren’t using all of their profits for themselves. The business needs money—if you want it to grow or if you want to be more profitable in the future.
