794377 发表于 2020-03-29 14:15:06 I’ve worked on them all and Peterbilt is by far (most of the time) easiest to work on, with a star car you get a junk steel cab and have to replace your radiator every 6-12 months along with lots of electrical issues and having your headlights not stay adjusted, and sometimes fall out. Kenworth has probably the most comfortable and air tight cab I know of quite a few 10-15 year old kws that the cab is so tight that if you try to shut the door with the window up it won’t shut and if it does your ears pop due to air pressure change, I currently drive a 1989 Peterbilt with 2.5 million miles on it and it drives like a brand new truck .

Where I live in Michigan that’s what they do , I’m sure temperature and road salt are big factors but I’ve seen brand new western Stars with less than 30 thousand miles have the radiator fail . The one western Star milk truck I used to work on regularly had 450 thousand miles on it and it was on its 5th or sixth radiator, that’s just my personal experience

Parts can be pretty expensive though. but I had one of the older ones before they got involved with Freightliner. I'd say the Peterbilt was the quietest of the three. and the W900 Kenworth probably rode the best. the Western Star just had a lot more room up front than the others.","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"Are you looking at new trucks or used trucks?\nI have an '05 Pete 379. 625hp, 18speed, and 3.55 rears.\nNo def.\nPurs like a kitten.\nYes, it's a yellow engine.\n1.7 million on the paint and wires.\nRebuilt drivetrain at 1.3 million, and only because I got a good deal.\n9 airbags underneath on updated suspension... I don't feel a thing going down the road. \nIf I were you, I'd get a good used mostly metal truck with no def, and a warranty.\nJust remember... 379's are riveted together, you can replace individual panels. W9's aren't, your replacing entire sides, or hoods at a time.","replyToPid":0}
