If DOT does a surprise inspection and sees any evidence of you drinking in your truck even on a 34 hr restart you can lose your CDL. Call an Uber, Lyft, or cab and go to a bar. I haven’t checked in a while, but it used to be a minimum of 4 hrs from having a drink to operating a CMV. Check the books.

They can and will search at truckstops. That said, they aren't generally out to mess with you, but I don't chance it. By the by, you are also responsible if a rider brings something illegal on.
