{"text":"My first load was boxes of Gatorade and my company made me take the 191n through Arizona and utah.. and didnt tell me about the 6, 8, and 10% downgrades with hairpin turns. I literally almost died. \n\nmy next load (current) was 45k lbs of beer in kegs through wyoming on the 80w, and I got pushed off the road by wind while I was taking an exit to park up for the night (exit 221 to the Sinclair travel center). I'm about to get towed to the shop for repairs and then I have to do some safety stuff at the main terminal I think...\n\nmy questions...\n\n1. are there any tips for seeing the yellow ramp speed limit signs when the sun is in your face? \n\n2. is it true that its illegal to slow down on the highway, even to take an exit? I've been told that by trainers and I'm not seeing how that's safe at all, especially when the ramp is 20mph and it's raining, like in the bigger cities.\n\n3. can my company fire me for not wanting to drive in high wind situations (35+)? I'm not saying I won't, but they tried to dispatch me with mattresses (10k lbs) on the same route, and I'm sure I would have ended up a cross on the highway.... what's the protocol for that kind of thing?\n\nI'm trying to do my best to drive safely and awarely and i feel like my company is giving me pro routes and less than ideal equipment to do it with... I'm only an ELD, I've had my license less than a month... when can I find a new job? or how do I explain my concerns to my superiors without getting written off as a chickenshit driver?\n\nI used to drive up armors for the army... it wasnt half this bad.\n\n\n\n","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true} |
