{"replyTo":"","text":"My dad was a long haul trucker for years so i got to hear a bunch of stories from him and a couple of his friends over the years that i think would meet the requirements of your question here.\nHe was passing through a small town in Arizona down real close to the border with Mexico when he got stopped at an intersection with what he described as “just your average junkie hooptie car” sitting in the lane next to him. A van pulled up behind that car and four guys got out carrying guns and just blasted that car and whoever was in to death. My dad said as soon as the shooting started he ran the red light but watched these guys unload everything they had into that car ammo wise. He figured it was cartel business since this was broad daylight and they acted like they had zero cares in the world.\nMy dad said he watched his rearviews for the next hundred miles scared to death they would come after him because he was a witness or a loose end. No one ever came after him and he never wanted to see what he could find out about what happened after the fact.\n","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"before the national speed limit of 55 MPH was dropped the State Troopers everywhere were strictly enforcing the 55 MPH limit and you would have been crazy to speed. My boss was sleeping in the passenger seat when I noticed a small dot rapidly gaining on us, when the Porsche passed us it was really just a blur and sounded like a jet fighter in full afterburner and it literally shook the van as it passed. My boss woke up and started gripping at me about running off of the highway, I pointed out the rapidly disappearing car that was probably going faster than 130 as the culprit but he didn’t believe me until the Radar Detector went off. About 5 miles down the highway we passed that same Red Porsche (a 944 Turbo I think) had actually pulled over and the largest Arkansas State Trooper that I had ever seen had just gotten out of his car and was putting on his hat with the biggest $hit Eating Grin on his face while looking really mad at the same time!\nToo bad we couldn’t have listened to that “conversation”.\nI saw a loaded semi run off of the interstate and across an on-ramp at highway speed and actually going completely airborne (I clearly saw daylight under all of his tires)! The driver managed to keep the truck upright and got back onto the highway and never slowed down. I’m fairly certain that he broke some springs or something else but he didn’t stop. I’ll bet he either fell asleep or was distracted in some way, fortunately there wasn’t another vehicle near him otherwise someone could have been killed.\nI’ve seen people intentionally step in front of a moving vehicle in an attempt to collect insurance money.\nAnd far too many fatality accidents which I won’t go into other than to say please wear your seatbelt and pay attention to your driving not your phone.\nStay safe out there.\n","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"I'll skip over the stereotypical shit of being flashed and witnessing various sexual acts which did indeed occur. This had a far deeper meaning and one I still hold close to my heart.\nIt was a picture perfect day as I drove the two lane backroads through old-growth pine forests on my way to Crossett, Arkansas. Crossett is one of those, you can't get there from here, kind of places. The only thing in Crossett was the paper mill I was picking up at, and the only people who lived in Crossett, worked there. There was only one way in, and one way out, and that was on that beautiful two lane backroad.\nTunes up, windows down, I saw a large animal bound across the road a few hundred feet ahead of me. What the…?\nIt wasn't a deer. It had a long tail. A large dog? Nuh-uh. I never saw a dog run like that. This thing flowed across the road.\nI slowed down to a stop where I thought I saw it had entered the woods. It had stopped to get a gander at me too. What I saw was remarkable and unmistakable. It was a large cat, as in cougar large. Once the cat was satisfied with what it saw, it went about its way.\nWhen I got to the mill in Crossett, I asked the guy loading my truck if they had any large cats running around in the woods around there. His reaction was immediate. He stopped his forklift and immediately called to his coworkers,”Hey, this feller saw the cat!”. It was like I was an instant celebrity. Everybody wanted to know all the particulars, the who, what, and where's of what I had seen. Apparently, that cat was something of legend. Years later I came to understand why.\nWhat I had seen was an Eastern Cougar. The Eastern Cougar was declared extinct in 2016. What I had seen was one of the last of its kind. Like a small cheetah with the most wonderful eyes.","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"My dad also told me While driving through Idaho he had to slam on the breaks when a nice sized buck crossed the road in front of him out in the boonies. The buck wasn’t what got his attention though really. He swears with a straight face that he saw a Bigfoot that night, and that it followed that deer across the road.\nHe says when he stopped the deer kept running but on the right side of the road was this thing standing there. He says that it look just like you see in the photos and read in the descriptions. Big and tall, with matted brownish hair and a pretty damn humanoid looking face.\nDad said it felt like 15-20 minutes, but knows it was only a matter a seconds in reality that this creature stood there before it crossed the road right in the lights of his truck, following the same path that deer had.\nMy dad may joke around some here and there but whenever he talks about this story he gets real serious. I know a lot of people will scoff and laugh at his story, claim it was some college kids in a suit of some sort or that he was imagining things in the shadows, but the way he acts when he talks about it ..... i have to believe he saw exactly what he described.\n","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"In the early 80’s my trucker friend had just dropped a load in Mobile Alabama and gotten his return load hooked up. He went through a town (sorry guys i can never remember this town name i just know it’s a woman’s name) a little after midnight and witnessed the Klan having some kind of get together or rally. They were wearing their white outfits, carrying torches and had a big cross burning. My friend has never been able to tolerate racism, and every time he would tell this story you could see him getting mad about the fact that those types of groups still exist in America or at least did back then.\nHe said he didn’t stick around to watch them chant and sing their songs, and i don’t blame him one bit.\n","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"A pickup truck was blocking the exit of a Flying J in IL. I figured the driver dropped off a trucker so I pulled up behind him, waiting for him to pull out. Then I smelled smoke. Then I saw smoke. Then a small orange flame started up from the pickups’s undercarriage! Then the tires caught fire. I pulled the breaks, jumped out and ran to see if anyone was inside. There was a confused elderly gentleman slowly exiting the driver seat, unaware of the fire, all the while me and some guy were talking to him, telling him to “come with us!” “Get away from the truck!” “Fire!” We were the only two who took this confused old man’s arms and pulled him away from a burning vehicle! The fuel island in front was full of cars and SUV’s with people just staring, a few even had their phones out filming it! I couldn’t believe it! The confused gentlemen tried to turn around and open the driver side rear door (extended cab) while there was nothing and no one else in the cab. We had to again, pull him away from the vehicle as it just lit up and burned to a black rusty frame. I was afraid the tank would blow as me and the other person helping continued to coerce the elderly man towards the store, yelling “fire!” “It might blow!” It never did. It just melted down to tireless, metal frame. This happened my first year of trucking. I couldn’t believe so many people would just stand there and let someone get killed. My eyes were opened that day. True story. ","replyToPid":0}
